INVITATION FOR BIDS

Supply, Delivery, Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of Computers & Accessories
for Teacher Centers, Schools & National College of Education under HIV/AIDS Health Education Program

1. The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka has received a loan and grant from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the investment of Education for Knowledge Society Project. This invitation for Bids follows the specific notice that appeared in the ADBBO website and Ministry of Education Website www.eksp.sch.lk

2. The Secretary, Ministry of Education (MoE) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders from Member Countries of ADB for the Supply, Delivery, Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of Computers & Accessories for Teacher Centers, Schools, National College of Education under HIV/AIDS Health Education Program.

3. International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Single Stage: One –Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

4. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information form the Project Director/EKSP Ministry of Education and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below.

5. The Bidding Documents, in the English Language, may be purchased by interested Bidders on submission of a written application to the address given below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of SLRs. 1500/-. The method of payment will be by cashier’s cheque or cash deposit. The documents will be sent by post for local delivery and by courier service for overseas delivery. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

6. Bids must be delivered to the address given in para 4, not later than 14:00 hours on 6th April 2010 Bids will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of the Bidder’s representatives who choose to attend address given in para 4. Late Bids shall be rejected. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of Sri Lanka Rupees 600,000/-. Electronic bidding is not allowed.

7. Ministry of Education will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids.
